Online Student Support Officer
The Aston Online unit sits within the DVC-A portfolio and comprises of both responsibilities for online studies and the Digital Learning Team. The Online Support Team are accountable for the teach out of legacy programmes and working with our external partner to ensure that new programmes are supported sufficiently.
Assisting students throughout their online studies is the main responsibility of the role, this involves working flexibly within the small team, taking responsibility for regular module & progression boards, and to provide support for synchronous teaching delivered out of hours, on a regular basis.
As an Online Student Support Officer you will contact and advise students, both electronically and directly, on their programme routes and updating SITS records along with assessment uploads and grades recovery on the Blackboard VLE. The variety of workload in this role is demanding and relies heavily on teamwork and good communication with other departments around the University and with our partner.
The salary being offered for this role is below the minimum threshold for required to sponsor new applicants to the Skilled Worker route. However, Aston University may be able to sponsor the successful candidate if they:
- Are under 25 years old
- Have held a Student or Graduate visa in the last 2 years
- Are already in the UK with a Tier 2 or Skilled Worker visa
