Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer
Band 2 37.5 hours per week - Permanent
Working within the Pharmacy Department at Tameside General Hospital, this role supports our team of pharmacists and technicians in the provision of our Homecare and Procurement and Distribution Service; to wards, departments and clinics within the Trust.
Previous pharmacy experience would be an advantage, but full training will be provided for those with no experience.
You will also undertake a GPhC approved course in Pharmacy Stock Management.
GCSEs in Maths and English at grades A-C (or equivalent) and basic computer knowledge are desirable, but functional skills can be undertaken alongside the stock management course.
Main duties of the job
Duties will involve providing support to the Homecare and Procurement team, Pharmacists and other technical staff working in the Dispensary and Pharmacy Receipt & Distribution

Qualifications
Desirable criteria- Good general education , preferably Mathematics and English at GCSE level or functional skills will be offered
- Training to NVQ2 level, or equivalent, attained
Experience
Desirable criteria- Recent experience of working in a Healthcare setting
- Recent experience of working in another public / customer service industry
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria- Can communicate effectively verbally and in writing with patients and service users , particularly by telephone
- Able to prioritise own workload within the scope of organised rotas
- Familiarity with the necessary keyboard skills required to use the departmental computer systems
- Good Numeracy and Literacy Skills
