Managing Director, International Market Lead

What you’ll do
As our Managing Director, International Market Lead, you’ll be responsible for developing and delivering the strategic and commercial objectives for International, representing the Centre of Excellence for all International coverage activities for the One Bank model within both the ring-fenced and non-ring-fenced bank.You’ll lead the market across the business, building the proposition, deepening knowledge, and elevating client service for target clients in the immediate team and more broadly. You’ll also provide inspiring leadership across the team, communicating clearly and with impact.
Working across the wider bank, you’ll bring exceptional private banking and wealth management expertise to our high and ultra-high net worth international clients, and you’ll take accountability for developing and leading the engagement with senior Coverage stakeholders and within the business to provide an industry leading end-to-end international proposition.You’ll also lead the international market in delivering an exceptional client service across private banking, wealth management, and investment management, as measured by client experience metrics. This will involve working in conjunction with leaders to deliver effective solutions, quality outcomes, and a seamless client service.
As well as this, you’ll:
- Maintain an overview of team and individual performances, analysing trends and developing solutions and propositions to meet client needs and provide a seamless service
- Develop and implement business plans and a management agenda, agreeing targets across all areas of the balanced business scorecard and taking full responsibility for their achievement
- Act as a strategic adviser for senior executives around international markets, and work with other market leaders in the Wealth business and across the wider organisation to deliver customer and business objectives
- Deliver the international market financial plan, including volume, revenue, and costs while ensuring an efficient use of capital, headcount, and other resources
- Be a senior ambassador to create and maintain brand strength with new and existing relationships to drive the acquisition and increase penetration of new international clients internally
- Manage, coach, and develop your direct reports while setting the team's risk culture through role modelling behaviour and creating and maintain a culture where employees are engaged and motivated to deliver to the highest quality
The skills you’ll need
We’re looking for someone with demonstrable international commercial experience in managing and developing client facing teams and providing relationship management and advice for investment related products and services to globally active clients.
We’re also looking for:
- Significant experience and market leading knowledge of Private Banking, investment products and services, high net worth and ultra-high net worth wealth needs, and the Family Office segment
- An understanding of client facing investment management and bespoke and advisory portfolio management both within the UK and across key international markets
- A track record of growing an international business from the UK, with a deep understanding of the UK regulatory environment, and how this is executed across international markets
