Job overview
The general pharmacy department is looking for recruit a pharmacy assistant to perform general duties which will support the efficient running of the department. We are looking for an enthusiastic pharmacy assistant to join our highly motivated and focussed teams.To perform a variety of tasks associated with the supply of medicines to our wards. The successful candidate will received the required training for the post.
This will be a split role between RCHT and SMH (Hayle)
The post holder will work from 8.30 till 5pm four days of the week and 10.30 till 7pm one day of the week
Main duties of the job
The post holder would be expected to work towards a BTEC level 2 certificate in Principles and Practice for pharmacy support staff.
Experience in dealing with the public
Good organisational skills
Demonstrate high levels of accuracy in all areas of work
Able to work with PC’s input data and other information
The post holder will be required to undertake further education, training and validation before being allowed to undertake the duties required of this post.
The post holder will also have to deal with telephone enquiries into the department and will have to use their knowledge and experience to answer the query or pass it on to a relevant member of the pharmacy department.
Be able to work in a team or autonomously when working on the wards during top up duties.
To participate in GDP training to meet the requirements of the wholesale dealer
Licence
To undertake all mandatory training as requested by the Trust

- NVQ 2 in pharmacy services
