The role
The Sanitation and Pest Control Operator plays an essential role in maintaining both the cleanliness and safety of the external areas surrounding the Fox’s Biscuits production facility. Proper waste management practices are integral, ensuring that all refuse is disposed of in a way that doesn't become a breeding ground for pests or create health hazards.
The operator is responsible for overseeing the cleaning and maintenance of key outdoor areas, such as the perimeter of the building, external loading docks, waste disposal zones, and any other areas that could potentially attract pests. This includes removing litter, debris, and any food scraps that could attract rodents, insects, or other wildlife that might contaminate the environment.
Key accountabilities- Routine and extensive cleaning and waste management
- Prevention and control of pests to ensure the facility operates within the highest hygiene standards.
- Maintain all external areas of the site to an audit-ready standard using specialist cleaning equipment.
- Take ownership of all areas, ensuring they are consistently clean, tidy, and compliant with hygiene regulations.
- Work with an environmental mindset, ensuring sustainability and waste management best practices are followed.
- Monitor and implement pest control measures, identifying and reporting risks both internally and externally.
- Work at height where required (full training provided).
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
- Work independently and take initiative in prioritising tasks.
- Follow all health & safety regulations and company procedures.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a food manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment and maintaining high hygiene standards
- Awareness of pest control and food safety regulations
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Willingness to undergo training, including Pest control and working at height
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental compliance
