Laboratory Technician
Working hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 9am - 5pm.
The purpose of the role is to complete, to the required quality standards, the analysis of food samples for a given method using laboratory techniques and further, assist in the efficient day-to-day operation of the laboratory. Previous experience within a laboratory is not required.
Undertaking all tasks within the main laboratory appropriate to the level of training given to you by team leaders and management.Registration, preparation, and analysis of food samples as required.
Adhering to documented procedures for all aspects of laboratory work.
Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed throughout the dayMaintain turnaround time at >99%, ensuring that daily targets are achieved.
Responsible for ensuring that UK health and safety legislation is maintained and helping to ensure that the working environment is kept in a clean and tidy manner with due attention to the careful maintenance of all laboratory fittings and equipment.
To assist through operating best practice in order to meet the requirements of the UKAS accreditation standard.
Maintain a clean as you go mentalityProvide a high level of internal and external customer care.
Qualifications
Previous experience within a laboratory is not required, full training will be provided.Educated to GCSE Level
Experience in working in part of a team
Good organisation and time management
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to self-motivate
