We are excited to welcome an enthusiastic Business Support Officer to join our Mental Health Administration Service. This role is specifically to support our Mental Health & Social Inclusion team, who provide a 24-hour mental health service to adults in South Staffordshire, 365 days per year.

This key role within the team will be to provide comprehensive business support to the mental health and social inclusion hub and line management to the small administration team, as we seek to provide an effective mental health service across South Staffordshire.

As a person, you will need to be self-motivated, with the ability to prioritise your daily workload whilst also managing your working time effectively. You will be able to work independently as well as being a good team player, with excellent communication and accuracy skills.

Main duties of the job
  • To analyse reports and extract data from all report formats for all Key Performance Indicators (Quantity & Quality) and feed this back to Managers in a format that can be used within Services/Teams for planning and supervision purposes.
  • The post holder will establish and maintain a business support infrastructure necessary to assist the Mental Health & Social Inclusion Hub Lead and senior clinicians in meeting the Trusts objectives and targets. This will include the development of systems and processes to monitor performance against the Trust’s Key Performance Indicators.
  • Required to have the authority/ability to approach individual clinicians and highlight performance issues and request action. To escalate poor performance/compliance as necessary via the Team and Quality Leads with a requirement to further escalate if deemed necessary via the Service Lead.
  • To work with Corporate Services to identify areas of under-recording of clinical activity and work within the Services/Teams to improve recording and data quality.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 Business Administration (or equivalent level of experience)
  • OCR/ RSA III or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
  • BTEC Diploma in Business Administration (Level 1)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience in administration duties.
  • Previous experience of setting up office/ administrative systems
  • Ability to plan, schedule and organise day to day work
  • Experience of analytical processes
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in the NHS
  • Knowledge/ Experience of Patient Clinical System
