Interim Senior Procurement Officer
Job Ref: Gloucestershire 5255024Pay Rate: Up to £366.62 per day PAYE depending on experience
Hours per week: 37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours
Role Length: This opening assignment is for 2-3 months
City: Gloucester, Gloucestershire

Candidates must be able to start immediately. Max on a 2-3 weeks’ notice period
The successful candidate will be working as part of the Council’s Strategic Procurement Service you will manage the delivery of high value and complex tenders, or work with a Business Partner to undertake specific category projects. This is one of a number of posts in the Strategic Procurement Service that work flexibly to support the commercial needs of the Council.Success will depend on developing critical relationships at all levels, particularly with Directors, lead commissioners, outcome managers, senior managers and others who influence commercial outcomes. You will be expected to demonstrate a high level of commercial knowledge and expertise perhaps in a specialist subject area.
Qualifications:
Professional CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply) qualification or equivalent and evidence of experience or necessary skills though training.
Skills & Experience:
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.Adults commissioning experience.
A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of strategic procurement principles.
Experience in developing/reviewing relevant procurement/contract terms.
Substantial experience working in a similar role with an organisation of a comparable size within the last two years.
Proven track record of providing strategic procurement advice and support to stakeholders at all levels across an organisation.
Demonstrable understanding of the commercial environment including the identification of commercial risk and providing high level commercial advice to stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to analyse and interpret financial, monitoring and other performance information.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite, Adobe Pro).
