LOCATION: VICTORIA PLACE SHOPPING CENTRE
SHIFT PATTERN: 4 Days, 4 off, 4 Nights, 4 off - 48 hours per week

PAY RATE: £13.99 per hour
The Security Shift Officers are responsible for leading, managing, and coordinating the security teams, also liaising with client and cleaning teams on site, ensuring professional standards and performance are maintained. Acting as site lead in the absence of the Centre Management team on nights and weekends.Also taking the lead in the Supervisors absence .
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and briefing security officers, conducting physical checks of security systems (CCTV, access control, etc.), and ensuring proper handover between shifts.
- Overseeing and monitoring the CCTV system, ensuring constant surveillance and proper coverage of all areas.
- Responding to and escalating any suspicious activity, breaches, or incidents detected via CCTV.
- Coordinating with the security team and site management to address incidents quickly and efficiently.
- Maintaining CCTV logs, ensuring footage is properly recorded, stored, and accessible for incident reports or investigations.
- Task allocation, monitoring patrols, incident reporting, completing paperwork, and overseeing security equipment.
- Managing security schedules, training new officers, providing refresher training, and handling last-minute roster changes.
- Acting as the first point of contact for security issues, addressing emergency callouts, and ensuring compliance with fire panel monitoring, alarm checks, and health and safety standards.
- Liaising with the cleaning team, ensuring they are properly briefed, equipped, and trained to maintain site cleanliness standards.
- Training new security staff to meet site standards, with hands-on guidance and one-to-one shadowing programs.
- Overseeing ongoing refresher training and toolbox talks for all staff to ensure they are updated on best practices and site requirements.
- Addressing staff welfare during shifts and conducting security investigatory with proper documentation.
- Before shift handover, the supervisor debriefs staff, checks and signs off records, and ensures all equipment is accounted for and in proper condition.
