Assistant Management Accountant (HEO)

Providing high quality financial reports and insightful management information, working closely with the Management Accountant Lead (SEO) and the wider Financial Management Team to interpret and discuss the financial position and outlook with key stakeholders.

• Working with Finance Business Partners to share business intelligence, actively identifying issues, participating in discussions and ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• Ensure the integrity of transactions on financial systems, ensuring good controls and checks are in place to maintain accuracy.
• Take ownership of the specialist accounting areas that sit within the team’s portfolio, especially workplace accrual calculations
• Undertake all month end activities, including preparing journals, budget profiling and accurate forecasting, ensure all accounting entries are complete and supported by a full audit trail of the supporting evidence.
• Provide explanations for significant changes in forecast and actuals and providing updates on issues and risks to senior managers.
• Engage with all change and improvement activities, taking the initiative to ensure a high-quality service and responding to ad hoc queries, analysis and activities that emerge.
