Job overview

The Service Delivery Manager is an essential role that provides operational management to the Paediatric sub specialties at the St Mary's and Hammersmith Hospital sites, including outpatient and inpatient activity. The Service Delivery manager takes responsibility for managing teams and key national projects such as RTT improvement.

The Service Delivery Manager has line management responsibilities; provides operational support to the senior management team, maintains quality and safety standards and works on efficiency planning to ensure services are running effectively for our Children & Young People.

This broadly includes service improvement, business planning and staff management and you are expected to support the Business Manager to ensure the needs of the services and patients are met. As the service delivery manager, you should be organised and have a strong ability to manage multiple work-streams concurrently in a fast paced environment.

You will be supportive of and strive to develop your administrative teams and always put the patient and their families first.

Main duties of the job
  • Assisting the Business Manager in developing, supporting and implementing plans for service improvement
  • Ensuring the required capacity of services
  • Management of staff and budgets for designated areas
  • Operational oversight of the paediatric department
