The Trust also provides inpatient care for children with complex mental health needs at our Sunflower House building newly relocated, and opened on the hospital site.

Job overview
We are looking for an Operating Department Practitioner or Registered Nurse with anaesthetic experience to join our expanding Theatre Education Team.
The post will involve one clinical day per week and clinical on calls.
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of high-quality care by providing expert clinical knowledge and skills, effectively acting as team leader to support, supervise and guide junior staff.
The post holder will work with the lead for education and development, supporting continuous professional development for all staff and students in the Inpatient Theatre Department and the Surgical Day Case Unit.
Main duties of the job
To support and facilitate the induction of all new starters to the department in accordance with local and trust requirements.
To act as lead mentor and support all students and mentors in practice. liaise with Practice Education Facilitators and Universities where appropriate.
To supervise and teach clinical skills relevant to perioperative practice.Liaise with Learning and Development team and support, assist and facilitate training and education needs of the department.
Organise and facilitate local training sessions Develop and lead an interest in different aspects of care.
Support link practitioners within their roles
Ensure resources are available to enhance staff information and learning
Have an awareness of the trust mandatory training matrix and work alongside clinical leads to ensure that staff attends sessions relevant to their roles.
Demonstrate an ability to support staff in their professional development.
To participate in professional development programmes
Acknowledge any limitations of competence and comply with all professional and trust policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Develop evidence-based competency packages to assist and support quality patient care.
Keep accurate records of staff training compliance.
Assist in the development of guidelines, policies, and procedures.
Attend relevant meetings relating to clinical education and patient care when required and advised.
