What you will do: You will deputise where needed for the Head of Business Risk, representing the 1LOD Business Risk function at internal and external stakeholder meetings.You will take ownership of the risk relationship with stakeholders, influencing, and supporting the operational teams in evaluating risks, understanding the adequacy and effectiveness of controls and producing options to mitigate/reduce risk.Day-to-day duties will include leading and motivating risk teams, prioritising and coordinating all risk management activities.
You will provide support and direction for more junior colleagues, ensure that they understand the business strategy, risk appetite and risk environment; hold regular 1-1/s, AMAZEING reviews and support their development.You will contribute directly to and may lead risk forums and committees.You will lead/drive risk assessments, considering controls, incidents, audits, external threats and make recommendations on risk ratings and remedial actions.You will ensure that Risk & Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) activity is delivered within required timescales, and that key messages and next steps are highlighted to stakeholders.You will be responsible for the implementation and embedding of the Bank/s defined control and testing standards consistently across the business teams you partner with.You will use your knowledge of the wider risk environment to lead risk /"deep dives/" to understand thematic risks.You will lead risk maturity improvements.You will lead the development & production of quality risk MI (KPIs, KRIs & KCIs) to provide senior management with insight into the adequacy and effectiveness of our management of our most material non-financial risks and underlying control environment.And we are a bank so risk is a part of everything we do.

What you will need: Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills at a senior level are essential as you will need to work with colleagues at all levels, to drive consistently AMAZEING service and effective risk management, providing constructive debate.Ability to prioritise and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced banking environment.Ability to work collaboratively and effectively manage multiple relationships with a range of stakeholders across the business including the Senior Leadership team, 2nd Line Risk and Internal Audit.Experience of leading a team of risk managers and specialists/analysts.The ability to design and operate fit-for-purpose risk processes and ongoing improvements that satisfy the requirements of day-to-day risk management and governance.Proven experience leading a 1LOD Business Risk team delivering continuous risk management, including RCSA, issues, incidents, control testing, risk assessments, policy gap analysis and audit action progression.This role requires applied experience and knowledge of enterprise and operational risk management frameworks and processes including RCSA, IUMs, Thematic Risk Reviews and risk reporting to risk governance committees.You will have a good understanding of the regulatory environment.
