SEN Tutor
We are seeking a dedicated SEND Tutor in Guildford to provide one-to-one tuition for a young person with complex special educational needs.
The role involves offering tailored support to a pupil in the Guildford area who is currently pursuing education outside of a traditional school environment. The tutor will deliver lessons in Maths and English and will be responsible for conducting a baseline assessment to evaluate the student's current abilities before developing a suitable curriculum.
This pupil has complex SEN and is performing below age-related expectations. Therefore, a primary specialist with experience across Key Stages is essential to help bridge gaps in their learning and enhance their KS2 knowledge.
The tutoring sessions will take place either at the student's home or in a local library, with a part-time commitment of up to 25 hours per week.
As an SEN Tutor, you will be expected to create, plan, and deliver tailored lessons aimed at bridging gaps in the pupil's education and improving attainment levels. You may be an experienced teacher or have significant experience working with children in a therapeutic context to support their needs through previous SEN specialist roles.- Location: Guildford

- Duration: Ongoing until a school placement is secured
- Contract Type: Temporary/Part-time
- Pay Rate: From £25 per hour
- QTS or equivalent teaching qualifications preferred
- Demonstrated experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
- UK classroom teaching experience and experience delivering tailored lesson plans
- Creativity, patience, and the ability to think outside the box
- Experience working with challenging behaviour and disengaged pupils
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
- Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references
