The role – IT Security Analyst

The salary – Negotiable on experience

The location – Edinburgh

This role offers hybrid working with expectation being 3 days on site a week.

Reed are working with a fantastic Edinburgh based client as they look to add an IT Security Analyst to their team. The role will focus on ensuring that the organisations information systems and data are secure, ensuring the integrity of crucial data.

There will be a responsibility to implement and maintain security measures that will protect the organisation from cyber threats, ensuring compliance in line with industry and government standards.

This role is perfect for someone who wants to play a vital role ensuring that organisational security is constantly improving amidst ongoing IT transformation projects, and who wants to continue to grow within the security sphere.

Your day-to-day:

  • Support the planning and implementation of security controls, including testing to ISO27001 standards.
  • Assess information security threats and work with the wider teams to address impact.
  • Respond to any security incidents promptly and to a high standard.
  • Perform business impact analysis across the organisation, identifying any gaps that may exist.
  • Support in the production of Business Continuity plans.
  • Communicate changes in Business Continuity plans to the wider security team and security manager.
  • Support with planning Disaster Recovery activities, provisioning alternate facilities in the event of a disaster.
  • Support with the planning and reporting of IT security audits, including the tracking of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Document enterprise risk and compliance issues.
  • Support with staff security awareness training.

About you:

  • Experience working in an IT Security role.
  • You’ll have a strong understanding of IT security methodologies and standards, particularly ISO27001.
  • Experience in Business Continuity management.
  • Experience managing IT standards, policies and frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of IT with an understanding of systems and the ability to communicative with IT colleagues.
  • Good communication skills and experience in stakeholder management.
  • Previous experience in dealing with IT security incidents is desirable.
