Summary
As a Client Director you will report into the Managing Director and be responsible for the commercial success of a client portfolio by delivering outcomes that meet their needs while ensuring the right profitability targets for Fulkers. You will manage Associate Directors who oversee the day-to-day project delivery whilst you monitor all commercial metrics linked to project work i.e. client satisfaction, profitability margins, utilisation, debtor days etc.and take action to improve where necessary. As a leader within the organisation, you will champion our culture, lead, mentor, and coach our people, and create a high performance environment for all Fulkers people, allowing them to grow with us on our journey.
Responsibilities- Work with the Managing Director to create client/project/sector business plans for your client group.
- Own the implementation/leadership of client plans, attend client meetings for regular status updates, and be the escalation point for the Associate Directors.
- Explore new opportunities to deliver to existing clients and raising the profile of Fulkers within your clients with the aim of gaining multi-discipline assignments.
- Own agreed revenue and profitability targets, create delivery plans to achieve the results and work closely with the Associate Directors to monitor progress, supporting when required.
- Lead the Organisation, People and Talent planning processes so we have the right people in the right place at the right time, and are prepared for any instances we don’t, by working with colleagues in all areas of Fulkers to find appropriate solutions.
- Whilst your primary focus will be on your specific clients/sector, you are required to work collaboratively with others across clients and categories where opportunities arise.
- Hold responsibility for adherence to, and compliance of Quality Assurance and Controls of your work, and your colleagues work, where necessary, to maintain legal obligations and ensure standard of work.
- Lead, manage and support the development of a team of Associate Directors, supporting them to navigate not only the day-to-day work, but also drive continuous improvement and a growth mindset, by encouraging their participation in the Professional Communities as well as getting involved yourself.
- Follow up, and generate, targeted opportunities for outreach events (collaboration with Marketing required) to raise brand awareness as well as expand our client base with suitable clients/opportunities. Pass any new business opportunities to the Managing Director to foster or agree a joint plan on how to develop together.
- Monitor ongoing resource utilisation (which Associate Directors manage directly), advising and supporting where necessary on changes or issues arising.
- Always take personal responsibility for the health and safety of self and others by working within the Health and Safety policy and procedures.
- Endeavour to improve our social and environmental impact.
- Any other duties as reasonably required of my role.
- Commercial leadership within the construction industry, managing clients and complex projects, demonstrating sound construction knowledge and commercial awareness.
- Leading, managing & coaching multi-disciplinary project teams (PM, QS, BS).
- Demonstrable success of owning and delivering financial and commercial targets for construction projects, people and profit.
- Project delivery including resourcing, performance and completion.
- Significant experience within a relevant discipline.
- Fully Chartered Accreditation or with significant experience within relevant discipline.
- Demonstrate wide range of relevant experience working within the construction industry and sound construction, commercial awareness, financial awareness, and procurement procedures.
- Demonstrable success of developing increased business opportunities within an existing client base.
- Demonstrable computer literacy of Microsoft package (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
- Previous successful experience utilising CRM systems
- Experience running and utilising to business intelligence reporting
