Senior Occupational Health Advisor: Business Partner

Recent significant investment leads to the introduction of a Senior OHA: Business Partner role.Working within a well-resourced multi-disciplinary team, with responsibility to partner the organisation, you will be responsible for building a deep understanding of Trust needs, both current and predicted, and ensuring the service can respond accordingly.
Accountable for relationship building and consultancy, this role offers opportunity for professional development, visibility within the organisation and to influence at a divisional level.
Main duties of the job- As part of a multi-disciplinary team the purpose of this role is to support the protection and promotion of the health and wellbeing of current and prospective employees, and those from contracted and other organisations, as per Trust arrangements.
- In accordance with Trust / Department policy and procedures, to deliver OH clinical activity such as management referral consultation and reporting, health clearance activity, and risk management & exposure related advice and intervention.
- As a specialist practitioner, provide evidence-based opinion, intervention and guidance to Trust management and partner organisations to support their line and risk management responsibilities. Assist in safeguarding against risks arising from work and the working environment and influence the application of safe and healthy work practices.
- Line manage and develop a small clinical team (OH Practice Nurses, OH Technicians), and mentoring others, e.g., Administrative Staff, to ensure that clinical practice and service delivery is undertaken in accordance with Trust / Department policy and procedures.
- Within levels of competence, deputise for the OH Managers: Operational and Governance Leads.

Education/ qualifications
Essential criteria- 1st level Registered Nurse
- Specialist Occupational Health Qualification.
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Qualification Diploma / Degree in Health & Safety, Wellbeing / Health Promotion / Business Management
Experience
Essential criteria- 3 years+ wide range of OH nursing including 1 year+ NHS OH experience
- 2 year+ OH Team Leader / Mentor / Manage
- Project management
- 5 years OH experience including 3 years+ NHS OH experience
Skills/ knowledge/ abilities
Essential criteria- Current OH clinical knowledge
- Effective negotiating, influencing and leadership skills and ability to build and motivate others
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to identify and solve complex problems at an operational level
- Effective role model, demonstrable ability to meet Trust values
