Freight Branch Manager

Gleeson has been partnered with a Global business looking for a Freight Branch Manager. This Opportunity is best suited to a Freight professional looking to climb the ladder in a fast paced Global Freight Business.

Locations: Manchester

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and support team members in reaching their objectives and targets.
• Manage staff, oversee daily operations, and ensure high performance.
• Provide training and supervision, maintaining up-to-date staff training records.
• Supervise import and export operations, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time, including legal, financial, and invoicing processes.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce departmental SOPs to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Communicate internal leads to the sales and customer service teams.
• Ensure quotations are processed and communicated within two hours, with proper documentation.
• Collaborate with the warehouse and line manager to enhance processes and drive operational efficiency.
• Oversee local sales activities, ensuring the sales team is informed and aligned with company goals.
• Build and nurture strong customer relationships, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
• Monitor departmental cost capture for accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Ensure procurement processes deliver value for money.
• Ensure contractors comply with Health & Safety regulations, overseeing risk assessments and incident reporting.
• Inspect and maintain equipment, reporting issues immediately.
• Attend business and Health & Safety meetings, ensuring decisions are aligned with company policies.

Key Talents:

• Strong knowledge of import/export operations and regulatory compliance.
• Solid financial management expertise, especially in cost tracking and invoice processing.
• Strong Experience within Air / Sea / Road
• Management / Direct Report Management Experience
