Teaching Assistant
We are currently looking for dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a SEN/ASC unit in a mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a supportive team that helps students achieve their full potential.
About the Role:
- Location: Bournemouth
- Start Date: ASAP/Feb ½ Term
- Role Type: Temporary (with potential for permanent positions for the right candidate)
- Student Group: Students aged 11-16 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)/Language & Communication Difficulties
Your role will involve providing tailored support to individuals and small groups, helping them engage with their learning and thrive in a safe, inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and group support to students, helping them engage with their learning.
- Assist in managing student behaviour and supporting emotional well-being.
- Support students during daily activities and routines, ensuring a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
- Help teachers prepare learning materials and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with the wider team to monitor student progress and implement tailored strategies.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
- A patient, understanding, and compassionate approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
