Then an Apprentice Pharmacy Support Worker post within the pharmacy team at Kingsway Hospital Derby is just for you!
This post holder will work within the pharmacy operational team supplying medicines to wards and teams within Derbyshire Healthcare Foundation Trust and be supported by a registered pharmacy technician to study towards an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
There will be the opportunity to learn new skills and build on personal development skills.
Applicants should be aware they must be able to demonstrate they meet the eligibility criteria (Annex A - Apprenticeship funding rules 2023 to 2024 (publishing.service.gov.uk)) before being permitted to commencing an apprenticeship. Evidence of qualifications will be requested as part of a pre-screening process prior to interview, must have been resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years by the start date of the apprenticeship and have the relevant right to work in the UK for the duration of the programme.

Stores, Distribution & Procurement
Accurately input, assemble and issue stock medication for patients from agreed stock lists and worksheets using the pharmacy computer system and other recording systems as per procedures.
Ensure all routine pharmacy items and orders received are processed in accordance with procedures and health and safety.
Pack all medication accurately and securely for distribution to ensure correct and timely delivery.
Issue prescriptions at the dispensary hatch as per procedure.
Accurately receive routine deliveries, check for falsified medicines and input the details into the EMIS computer system.
Participate in stock control processes including problem solving.
Procure pharmaceuticals and sundries from approved suppliers.
Input data into the homecare system for patient specific ordering (PSO) System,Dispensary
Accurately dispense, assemble and issue medication including extemporaneous products from an allocated workload.
Record patient information accurately following procedures.
Ensuring Clozapine outpatient cards are put away for the current week and the next weeks cards are prepared for dispensing for collection by a patient or distribution to a POCHI clinic/designated delivery point.
Input routine information onto the CPMS system.
Support the bagging up of Clozapine prescriptions for distribution or collection.

Communication skills and attention to detail are key aspect of this role as you will work on your own or within a busy team to meet strict deadlines.
The candidate will study towards a NVQ level 2 apprenticeship subject to criteria stated within this qualification.
There may be some travel between different trusts sites as per rota.
