Casual Garden and Support Assistant D018
We are looking for a Casual Garden and Support Assistant to support a young man with autism to ensure that his allotment and garden are maintained. The hours are from zero to 6 hours per week (weather permitting), plus other non gardening tasks.
To work independently on tasks set by the employer to scaffold the young man to achieve success in his endeavours.
To have a prior knowledge of gardening/allotment safety, including the safe use of hand tools and cordless power tools for health and safety reasons.
To assist the employer and young man with household/daily tasks to enhance the young man’s life.
Person specification: Must be physically fit and able to carry out such work as described.
A kind, patient clearly spoken person who is happy to work at the pace of and under the instruction of the young man to achieve his goals.
Clean driving licence and ability to drive an automatic estate car is essential.
Non smoker.
A DBS would be required for this position and is funded by the LA.
The rate of pay is £14.30 per hour .
