• Supporting procurement procedures within the business to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Assisting in the negotiation of supplier contracts to achieve favourable terms.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams to determine procurement needs and specifications.
• Conducting market research to identify new potential suppliers and products.
• Maintaining accurate supplier and product records within procurement databases.
• Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders to replenish stocks as needed.
• Resolving issues and discrepancies with orders and invoices.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and practices.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Assistant Buyer should have:

• Prior experience in a procurement or purchasing role, preferably within the industrial / manufacturing sector.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• A detail-oriented approach with strong organisational skills.
• Able to commute to Lichfield 3 days per week
• Can work well in a team.

• An attractive salary package ranging from £27,000 to £30,000.
