Mobile Grounds Maintenance Operative
Equans is looking for a Mobile Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our team in Sandyford Community Fire station, Stoke-on-Trent ST6 5ED on a permanent basis. This is a full time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary of £26,500.00 per annum and benefits package.
Shift Times:
1st April - 31st October - Monday - Friday 7:30am - 16:00pm
31st October- 29th March Monday
- Friday 7:30am
- 11:30am with the additional 4 hours been banked for gritting and snow clearance when required.
What will you deliver?
The post holder will be expected to perform a wide range of duties covering all aspects of grounds and gardens maintenance across all stations. Tasks will include, but not be limited to mowing and strimming; weeding and pruning; seasonal planting; general upkeep and tidiness; winter gritting and litter picking.You will have a flexible approach with the ability to plan and manage your own workload, taking into consideration the changing needs of the Fire Service as well as the Community Users and evolving seasonal demands, and be able to carry out all works safely.
You will also maintain footpaths, walkways, car parks and other hard standing areas as well as cleaning snow from pedestrian areas and carrying out any necessary repair work.

- Valid Driving License - Essential
- Experience in a ground's maintenance role
- Good timekeeping and attendance record.
- An outgoing personality with strong customer service focus
- Proven experience of delivering a high-quality service with an eye for detail, and the ability to communicate those expectations to the rest of the team to achieve the same high standard.
- Experience of completing Risk Assessments & Method Statements
