Due to our continued success and growing business demands we currently have a vacancy for a SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER who is looking to develop their career, working on a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the UK. This role can be based at any of our offices in Essex, London, Cambridge or Birmingham, offering hybrid working once your probation is complete.

As a SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER, you will be responsible for leading, managing, and delivering civil engineering services for a range of projects, which includes providing technical expertise, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with all relevant design standards and regulations.

Key Areas of Responsibilities Will Include:

• Design and Development - Lead the design, analysis, and development of civil engineering aspects for various projects, including highways, drainage systems, infrastructure, earthworks, and site layouts, with support from senior management.
• Project Management and Coordination - Leading projects effectively to meet time, cost and quality targets
• Regulatory and Standards Compliance:
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant local authority regulations, planning requirements, and industry standards, including those for drainage, highways, and structural integrity.
• Undertake assessments in compliance with national standards such as the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF), CIRIA, and other relevant local codes.
• Liaise with statutory bodies, such as the Environment Agency, local authorities, and utility providers to obtain necessary approvals for projects.
• Client and Stakeholder Communication:
• Deliver presentations and attend meetings with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to discuss design developments, solutions, and issues.
• Prepare reports and technical documentation for clients and stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving and Innovation - Proactively identify challenges within projects and develop innovative engineering solutions to resolve technical issues and mitigate risks.
• Budget and Cost Management - Manage project budgets, ensuring that civil engineering designs are cost-effective, with a focus on maximising value for the client.
• Health, Safety, and Sustainability – Ensure Designer compliance with CDM 2015
• Quality Assurance - Monitor and review the quality of engineering designs and deliverables, ensuring they meet both internal and external quality standards.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification) with post-graduation experience in civil engineering design and project delivery, with a strong background in residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognised professional institution (e.g., ICE) or working towards.
• Advanced knowledge of civil engineering design principles, including drainage & highways design.
• Proficient in using engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infodrainage / MicroDrainage, and other relevant design tools.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, with a strong focus on time, cost, and quality.
