Salary: £85,000 + Bonus
The Role:
A unique and rewarding opportunity for a highly experienced Private Client Lawyer to step into a senior leadership position at a well-regarded firm. Reporting directly to the Equity Partners, this role involves managing and developing the private client department, overseeing a busy caseload, and playing a key role in business strategy. Responsibilities include:
- Running a varied and high-value caseload across wills, trusts, estate planning, probate and LPAs
- Leading, mentoring, and developing the Private Client team
- Ensuring compliance with firm policies and regulatory obligations
- Contributing to the firm’s financial targets and profitability
- Representing the department at partner meetings and contributing to firm-wide decisions
- Delivering exceptional client care while managing expectations and risk effectively
- Proactively driving new business and cross-referrals across the firm
The Candidate:
This role will suit a senior Private Client Solicitor with a minimum of 10 years’ PQE and demonstrable experience in departmental leadership. You must also be able to demonstrate:
- A solid track record of technical excellence in private client law
- Strong billing history and commercial awareness
- Experience in managing a team and departmental targets
- Excellent drafting, communication, and client handling skills
- A strategic mindset and genuine enthusiasm for leadership and growth
- Commitment to compliance, training, and risk management best practices
