Reed Food & FMCG have been briefed to recruit for a top employer, based in Abeerdeen to join the business on a permanent basis. The successful candidate with be responsible for supporting the Boning Hall Manager in driving consistent operational excellence of the Boning Hall.

Assistant Boning Hall Manager

£32,000 to £40,000

Full time on site

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate and manage compliance to Company’s PPE requirements, knife safety requirements, hygiene and quality standards, department SOP’s and customer specifications.
  • Maintain extensive understanding and knowledge of customer specifications, yields and margins and department processes.
  • Manager role out of specification/task changes and/or new customer requirements to all Boning Hall Supervisor’s ensuring full understanding and compliance.
  • Managing all prestart, hygiene and safety checks as required, identifying and resolving any issues before production starts.
  • Managing all breakages, damages or defaults of equipment, liaising with maintenance as required, only permitting use of equipment when safe to do so.
  • Support internal and external audits as required, managing and implementing any corrective and preventative actions.
  • Driving continual improvement of production processes; writing procedures, making production more efficient, utilising data to make informed suggestions and decisions.
  • Any other duties as instructed by management and within the competency of the post holder.

Person Specification:

  • Significant knowledge and experience of meat production (preferably red meat), processing and operations essential.
  • Animal Welfare, HACCP, NEBOSH, or IOSH qualification
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop people and teams to achieve established goals and improve department performance.
