Are you looking for a new opportunity? Staff Bank Services successfully provides temporary staffing throughout Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust via a variety of different assignments.

We are looking to register reliable, hardworking individuals who would thrive in a busy environment who are available to work part time hours Monday to Friday during core office hours.

We are a teaching hospital and a specialist centre for many different areas including Trauma, HPB, UGI Haematology, Neurology and Vascular Surgery, so there is a varied and interesting caseload. We have large Dietetic department with lots of specialist Dietitians and are looking for Bank Dietitians to support our Dietitians working in Acute Medicine, Oncology, Frailty and General Surgery Wards as well as the potential to cover other speciality areas depending on knowledge and experience.

You will need good general experience and knowledge of nutrition support and acute hospital experience. You will work under the support and guidance of the Band 7 staff.

We have training and ongoing support available in a variety of areas within the Trust.

Main duties of the job

Due to ongoing changes in the department, we have a number of short-term vacancies we are covering and we are looking to recruit Band 6 Dietitians to cover vacancies in Oncology / Critical Care, General Medicine and Gastro / Renal / Hepatology teams.

We are looking to recruit Dietitians, depending on experience and interest there will be opportunities to contribute to the dietetic services to a variety of areas including Medical, Surgical, Catering and Oncology. Areas of specialty include Acute Medicine, General Surgery, Oncology, Frailty and Gastroenterology.

To work within a multi-professional framework and contribute to a first-class service through evidence-based clinical practice, management, education, research and audit.

To set and work toward individual and team objectives that reflect corporate plans and work within the clinical governance framework.

Be an active member of the Dietetic department. The nature of these acute jobs will require you to be onsite.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • State Registered Dietitian or Return to Practice Dietitian currently undergoing imminent registration with HCPC
  • Appropriate degree / diploma to post graduate level such as Diploma in Advanced dietetic Practice or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
  • Evidence of CPD (portfolio)
Desirable criteria
  • Training / further study
  • BDA specialist group member

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of one or more of the following: Nutrition Support, Oncology, Acute Medicine, Acute Surgery, Gastroenterology, Hepatology
  • Proven development work in either speciality, or can demonstrate the potential from transferable specialisms. Talks and Group work MDT work

  • Able to be adaptable to be able to learn new computerised programmes, e.g. EPIC
