As a Senior Design Engineer, you will design and test applications of Firestop in BIM models based on Hilti’s approvals, utilising our proprietary software suite, whilst driving technical customer engagement through value/customer-oriented problem-solving support.

In addition to providing bill of materials to other Hilti functions (e.g. supply chain) for further processing, you will develop technical application competence within sales and business development teams.

What does the role involve?
  • In your role as a Senior Firestop Design Engineer you will assess availability of required information, the scope and required time to perform engineering services on request of the BIM Project Manager, then create the “design core & specifics” based on the customer requirements which serves as the BIM Design guideline for internal and external BIM Modelers.
  • Collaborating with the BIM Project Manager, you will join engineering meetings with all parties involved to coordinate an optimal firestop solution, and with our International BIM Lead Engineer on project execution, to ensure adherence to relevant Hilti / BIM standards in engineering.
  • You will be the Senior Design Engineer, completing applications based on Hilti Firestop approvals and test data and establishing excellent working relationships with BIM Lead Engineers and functional counterparts in other regions, whilst proactively involving BIM Lead Engineers of BIM Competence Centre for highly complex cases beyond current competence.
  • Serving as Hilti’s technical conscience on all projects, you will ensure accurate and thorough engineering documentation as per design guideline and create open working culture through the integration and motivation of others.

What you need is?

Essential:

  • Proven experience designing firestop / passive fire protection / fire protection solutions.
  • Relevant degree in a engineering subject or similar.
  • Experience working on construction projects.
  • AutoCAD Experience.

Desirable:

  • Navisworks and Solibri experience
