Job Description

Step Teachers are working with a Secondary School in the Derriford area and they're currently seeking a Music Teacher in a Secondary School. This school has a relentless pursuit of excellence. It rests upon a vision of challenge and support for all students.

This school has high academic aspirations of every student and alongside excellent personal and social growth. This role is set to start immediately.

Music Teacher – Role:

  • Strong knowledge of the Music curriculum.
  • Organised and professional maintenance of the classroom and the associated resources, instruments, and equipment.
  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school.
  • Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback.
  • The Music Teacher must be able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons.
  • Compliance with the school's policies and the reliable implementation of these.

Music Teacher – Requirements:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification.
  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience as a Music Teacher in a Secondary School setting.
  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management.
  • A relevant Music-related degree is desirable.
