Freelance Social Research Interviewer – home based - no experience required – NatCen Social Research

A driving licence and sole use of a car is a requirement of the role.

As a freelancer, you will be paid for the results you achieve. The average hourly rate is £15.12 (£13.50 per hour, plus 12.1% holiday pay of £1.62) which will vary month on month – there is the opportunity to earn more as your experience grows.

Travel time is paid separately, and you will be paid for your mileage.

As you continue to work for NatCen, after 1 month you will receive a £250 loyalty bonus and a further two £250 payments after months three and five.

What you need:

Previous experience is not required but sales experience can be an advantage. You will receive full training when you start, and ongoing support will be provided. Simply being a good communicator and projecting a positive attitude will make you successful in the role.

The role does include some home-based administrative work and Interviewers are required to use a laptop or similar device. Therefore some IT literacy is important.

You will need:
  • To be able to work 2 or more days a week (a day is at least 6 hours)
  • To be available to work weekday evenings and weekends
  • To have a valid driving licence - the use of a car is mandatory
  • Internet broadband at home or secure Wi-Fi
  • To be comfortable with using computer equipment
  • Documents to verify your identity and to show you’re eligible to work in the UK.

Schedule: You will need to be available Monday to Friday and have some evening and weekend availability.

This role offers flexibility – you are not scheduled to a regular, fixed pattern of work. We are looking for people who can commit to working at least 15-20 hours per week. Most of this time will be spread across afternoons, evenings and weekends as these are the best times to catch people at home.

This role is therefore ideal to combine with other commitments like childcare and caring.

Work Location: On the road

This role is not office based. Driving to residential areas that are typically within one hour from your home is a key part of the role. You must have sole use of a car and a valid driver’s licence to apply. Home broadband is also essential.
