Deputy Headteacher
Are you an experienced and highly motivated teacher with a passion for inclusive education? At Cotswold Spa Hospital School, rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted, we are looking to appoint a deputy headteacher 4-5 days a week. We require an inspirational teacher who can lead, influence, and inspire others within our happy teaching team.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to support with the educational provision of our resident young people aged 13-19 with eating disorders, based within a 12-bed CAMHS provision. It’s a chance to be part of something special and support our headteacher to shape our future and uphold the outstanding provision we offer.
You will work alongside the headteacher where you will implement the School Development Plan under the external standards and frameworks. As a senior member of the team, you will support staff as they implement clear schemes, plan lessons, create teaching objectives and oversee assessments to review the individual needs of our students.The ideal candidate will have had some form of leadership experience and possibly special school experience. You will be a resilient and adaptable individual, a team player with excellent communication skills.
You will become part of the multidisciplinary team within the hospital, attending key meetings with community teams across the country and leading the reintegration of our students back into schools and their communities. You will be exploring alternative provision, different pathways and courses that may be appropriate for our students upon their discharge from our services, working with parents and other professionals as part of your role as the ‘link teacher’.
This is an extremely rewarding and versatile role, perfect for a fully qualified, dynamic and experienced teacher who has experience in planning to meet the needs of individuals, across all ability ranges including those with SEND.
You will be joining an enthusiastic, friendly, and well qualified small team of staff who work closely with the hospital team to make an enormous difference to our students’ lives. We need somebody who has the adaptability and flexibility to meet the constantly changing demands within our special setting, where every day is different.

Other Responsibilities- Ensuring the SMSC/PSHE curriculum is embedded across the curriculum and remains up-to-date with current legislation
- Overseeing the delivery of a high-quality curriculum that meets the needs of individual students who have SEMH
- Teaching lessons as part of the school timetable to the high standard that we promote for all staff, and be an excellent practitioner
- Leading our enrichment programme and organising educational visits
- Taking on SENCo responsibilities
- Acting as the Deputy DSL for the school
- Undertaking various administrative tasks and supporting with exam series
- Creating and monitoring ILPs for all students
- Deputising for the headteacher when required
- Liaising and coordinating work from students’ home schools
- To be Head of Sixth Form and lead our careers programme
