Carbon60 are seeking a Building Services Supervisor to join our client's team on a contract basis supporting a Waste from Energy site in Cheshire.

The Role
The purpose of a Building Services Supervisor is to provide oversight and management of all building services, such as maintenance, cleaning, and repair operations. The Building Services Supervisor will ensure that all services are carried out in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.They will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the building services, such as scheduling and coordinating personnel, monitoring quality control and safety, and ensuring that all services are carried out in accordance with building regulations.
The Building Services Supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring that all building services are properly documented, and that they are following all applicable laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Management:
- Lead, supervise, and manage subcontractors and trades involved in building services (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) on site.
- Ensure that all work is executed according to design specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Monitor progress and quality of building services installation and ensure timely delivery within project schedules.
Technical Oversight:
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation for building services systems.
- Provide technical guidance to site teams and ensure effective problem-solving for any arising technical challenges.
- Ensure that all installations meet relevant regulatory standards (e.g., CIBSE, BSI, and NICEIC).
Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Compliance:
- Maintain a strong focus on health and safety protocols, conducting regular site inspections and safety audits.
- Ensure compliance with CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations and the company's safety policies.
- Report any incidents or near misses and lead investigations if required.
Coordination and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and client representatives to ensure alignment on project progress and specifications.
- Attend and contribute to project meetings, ensuring clear communication of progress, issues, and risks.
- Ensure all variations and changes to the design are managed and documented effectively.
Quality Assurance:
- Oversee the commissioning and testing of building services systems to ensure functionality and quality compliance.
- Ensure all snagging and defects are rectified in a timely manner prior to handover.
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of building services systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and ventilation.
- Familiarity with UK building regulations and industry standards such as BS7671 and Part L.
- Experience working with high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems is advantageous.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to lead diverse teams.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders.
