Working Pattern: Days: Monday - Friday 08:00 to 17:00, 40-hour productive week, Nights: Sunday- Thursday 20:00 to 05:00, 40-hour productive week
2 weekly shift rotation
Job Description
As a service technician you will be using Mechanical and Electrical skills to install, inspect, service and repair Passenger Boarding Bridges and related equipment at Airports across our clients’ sites. Typical service works will involve 3 phase motors and switchgear, 24vdc PLC controls and HMI, roller bearing, chains sprockets and hydraulic works.
• Some stay away works will be required when assigned to works at locations around the UK, Ireland. Some overseas work opportunities are available from time to time. All travel and associated expenses paid for by the company.
• Standby/Call out, once up to speed the service technician will be required to be included in the callout Rota (this will be further discussed at the interview stage).
• Service Technician will be completing inspections on Passenger Boarding Bridges and repairing faults if any found.
• As a Service Technician you will liaise with the clients and airlines using the equipment to help them have a better user experience.
• Using your skills to find faults, trends and route causes to ensure equipment operates without operational impact.
In addition to the duties stated above the selected service technician may be required to undertake additional duties (including night shifts and weekends) consistent with the position which may be necessary to meet the demands of the organisation.
Skills Required
• Excellent communication skills
• Positive and proactive attitude.
• Completion of legible Job Sheets for administrators to process.
• Able to organise your own work show initiative and work well as part of a team.
• Experience in Mechanical/Electrical industries
• Good approach and attitude towards colleagues, customers and suppliers in a high-pressured environment.
• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Able to follow instructions
Skills Desired
• Hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
• Right to work in the UK essential
• 5 year traceable work/education history
