Do you love working in a team? This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a first class multidisciplinary team providing interventional diagnostics and therapy at the North West Cardiac Catheter Sector Laboratory.
The Cardiac Catheter Lab is open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 7:00pm. CCL is closed on weekends and bank holidays. Shift patterns include early shifts from 0730am to 15.30pm and late shift from 1030am-1830pm.
PLEASE NOTE - You are required to have NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care or the Care Certificate to be eligible to apply for this role. You will be required to provide evidence of these qualifications.

The Cardiac Catheter Lab (CCL) is a state of the art cardiac facility with two theatres and a 6 bedded recovery area. The lab cares for patients undergoing cardiac interventions in this day case setting. Following the procedure and recovery period the patients are discharged via the Cardiac Catheter Lab’s own bespoke discharge suite.
As a new Senior Health Care Assistant joining our friendly team you will be provided with the highest standards of training to provide care to both acute and elective patients, making this a unique and varied role.
Once trained, you will be involved in assisting the nursing staff with the provision of an extensive range of interventional cardiac procedures including diagnostic angiograms, coronary intervention, device implantation, cardioversion and cardiology diagnostics.

- Assist qualified nursing and medical staff where requested.
- Communicate with all members of the team to maintain a good service provision.
- Ensure that all patients are able to meet their hygiene needs, providing a level of assistance appropriate to the individual.
- Prepare and support the patient appropriately during any activity that is to be undertaken.
- Alert the registered nurse where you notice any changes in the patient’s health and well-being or any possible risks.
- Undertake observations/tasks such as patient temperature, weighing, fluid checks as directed
- Ensure effective use of material resources/supplies within the ward/unit in consultation with senior staff.
- Assist with the general cleaning and re-stocking of resources where appropriate as well as cleaning and preparing patients beds.
