Quarriers are currently recruiting part time Support Workers to join a new service located in Paisley, Renfrewshire. You will be supporting a young adult male who is transitioning from children services into adult and providing 1:2:1 support in their day to day life.The person has complex needs and uses alternative methods of communication therefore a capability of building an understanding of their needs will be essential to be able to adapt support in line with care plans and positive outcomes.
As a Support Worker supporting the individual in their own home you will also help and assist with cooking, cleaning, personal care and assist in taking part in activities they enjoy while ensuring the person feels safe and secure.
Working pattern: This opportunity is part time, permanent offering between 16 - 30 hours per week. The person is supported 24 hours 7 days per week and you will be required to work a variety of shifts which will include early and late shifts as well as regular sleepovers including weekends on a team rotational schedule.
What you will need to bring to the role- Essential you are person centered in your approach to care.
- Confidence in managing and maintaining a safe and health environment while on shift.
- Ability to build long lasting relationships and understanding of individual needs.
- Flexibility to be able to work a variety of shifts as part of a team rota.
- Compassion and kindness to support people in their day to day lives.
- Willingness to train on the impact of trauma and understand paths for recovery.
