Support Worker
This role requires an experienced care worker who is committed to enhancing the quality of life for our client through personalised care whilst promoting his independence.
The hours of work will be either 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am (waking night) and the care team arrange the rota's between them to suit. You should be flexible across all days and be willing to support the rest of the team when planning shifts. The pay rate for this role is £16.45 per hour.
The duties and responsibilities for this role include personal care, including catheter and bowel care, to which you must have experience of. Moving and handling as required, assisting with administering medication, providing practical assistance with tasks around the home which includes helping to plan and cook meals, cleaning and laundry.You will also assist with physiotherapy, gym and rehabilitation techniques. You must be comfortable around dogs as our client has a lovely staffy who you will feed and walk.
Experience of bowel care is essential.
You do not have to be a driver for this position but you must be male.

Essential Requirements Identified for this Role:
- An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this vacancy (expense to be met by HomeCareDirect)
- This post is exempt under The Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9 Part 1 - there is genuine occupational requirement to recruit a male support worker only
- At least 1 years' experience of bowel care
- Must have excellent spoken English language
- Must be confident with dogs and have no dog allergies
- Prepared to commit to long term care for one client in a 'person-centred' way
- Willing to be trained to CQC standards to meet the client's needs
