We have an exciting opportunity for a new associate director of corporate affairs to join Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust. In this role, you’ll manage the Trust’s Assurance Framework, Legal advice, Claims and Policy Management, and Freedom of Information.

This is a facilitative role that requires a combination of focus and flexibility, as well as a willingness to play an active, behind-the-scenes role to resolve issues. As gatekeeper and ‘trusted counsel’, the role requires a highly resourceful individual with strong emotional intelligence and an ability to engage with staff across the organisation.

You will also be required to manage multiple simultaneous deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.

The associate director of corporate affairs is a critically important role within the Trust, in that it will facilitate the effective working of the Chair and Chief Executive Officer with both internal and external stakeholders and will allow them to fulfil their commitments to the Trust and the Board of Directors.

The post-holder will report to the Chief Executive Officer but will have dual accountability to the Chief Executive Officer and the Chair.

Responsibility for developing and implementing sound governance systems and processes to ensure the Trust complies with relevant legislation and statutory duties. This will include all aspects of governance in respect of the Trust Board and its committees.

Responsibilities in respect of health and safety compliance, freedom of information, equality and diversity, corporate contract management and gifts and hospitality.

At Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT), we deliver a wide range of physical, mental health, learning disability and autism services, and are proud to serve communities across Coventry, Warwickshire and beyond.

We put ‘people at our heart’; this ethos is at the centre of everything we do and how we do it. We care for our staff and colleagues as much as they care for others and offer a wide range of benefits and development opportunities.

These include:
  • generous annual leave entitlement which increases during your time with us
  • flexible working opportunities
  • relocation packages
  • excellent learning and development opportunities, including apprenticeship frameworks, distance learning, internal training, coaching and mentoring, and much more
  • salary sacrifice schemes for lease car/ vehicle, Cycle to Work, home and electronics, gym membership and more
  • discounts with a range of retailers, restaurants and entertainment venues through our Employee Assistance Programme and NHS discount schemes
  • wellbeing support, including an in-house counselling service, external helpline and more
  • staff networks and support groups

We’re always on the lookout for people who share our passion for improving the lives and wellbeing of people in our community, as well as our values of compassion, collaboration, excellence, integrity and respect.
