We are advertising a permanent post in the Nottingham City & County Liaison and Diversion Team. You will be working with adults and young people who are navigating the Criminal Justice System. These individuals have Speech, Language and Communication Needs that require your support and expertise.

They often experience co-occurring needs such as ASD, ID etc

The role requires a high level of clinical and professional expertise in order for the population to benefit from a well-coordinated pro-active, specialist, efficient and effective SLT. The role remit includes individual assessment, diagnosis, therapy and management, training, advice & liaison.There is no Dysphagia component to the role

  • To be autonomous and responsible for the assessment, formulation and management of a specialist clinical caseload ensuring practice is in line the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapist’s Position Paper and Quality Guidelines.
  • To coordinate access to speech and language therapy
  • To develop and implement the 5 Good Communication standards
  • To represent the Speech and Language Therapy service at agreed forums as required.
  • To work as an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team across a variety of agencies and locations in order to maximise communication opportunities for patients
  • To be responsible for the mentoring, supervision and management of junior speech and language therapists, assistant speech and language therapists and students as required
