We are seeking an experienced Compliance Manager. The Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring that the company & operations and business practices (Quality, Safety, and Environmental) comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and uphold ethical standards within the organisation, suppliers, and 3rd Party Contractors.

The Compliance Manager collaborates with various departments to assess compliance needs, provide training, conduct audits, and investigate any potential breaches. Additionally, they stay abreast of regulatory changes, assess their impact on the company, and recommend appropriate actions to ensure ongoing compliance.

Internal and external Customer delight is key with this role and the ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering Operations and Supply to a very high standard. The goal is to assure safe, high quality, cost effective operations and services aiming to the long-term success of our business and team.

Requirements

Develop and Implement Compliance Programs:

  • Design, implement, and manage compliance programs, policies, and procedures tailored to the organisation and specific industry, regulatory requirements, and risk profile. Own the Quality Management System and related documentation.

Monitoring and Auditing:

  • Conduct regular audits (internal and external) and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of compliance measures and identify areas for improvement. Monitor compliance metrics and key performance indicators to ensure adherence to regulations and internal standards. This includes checks on incoming material.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

  • Identify potential compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement risk management initiatives and controls.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards that impact the organisation and operations. Interpret regulatory requirements and assess their implications for the company. Ensure timely compliance with regulatory reporting and licensing requirements.

Training and Awareness:

  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs for employees to raise awareness of regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and compliance policies. Provide guidance and support to employees on compliance-related matters.

Investigation and Resolution:

  • Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints, and other failures in the compliance systems. Implement corrective measures to address non- compliance issues effectively.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive records of compliance activities, audits, investigations, and corrective actions. Prepare regular reports for management and regulatory authorities on compliance status, issues, and remediation efforts.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and departments, such as customer care, operations, trade to ensure alignment of compliance initiatives with business objectives and strategies. Liaise with external stakeholders, including regulators, auditors, and industry associations, as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field. Life Science preferred.
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in compliance management, regulatory affairs, or related roles within a regulated industry.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g. GMP, HSE, EA etc) applicable to the organisation.
  • Knowledge of warehousing, shipping, and inventory procedures
  • Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • A keen eye for detail and a results driven approach
  • Engaging approach to people.
  • Resilient to change and issue management.
  • Proficiency in using compliance management software, data analytics tools, and Google / Microsoft Office Suite.
