Come and join Transport for Greater Manchester and take the reins as our Head of Finance. You will be at the heart of our financial strategy, guiding us through a period of transformation.

Your Role

You’ll provide excellent leadership to our Finance team as well as:

  • Lead and manage the full spectrum of finance activities, from budgeting and forecasting to financial reporting.
  • Drive financial planning to support operational excellence and long-term business strategy.
  • Partner with senior leadership colleagues to provide data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Oversee financial risk management and ensure regulatory compliance across the transport sector.
  • Lead and continue to build the finance team to support and advise into TfGM’s expanding range of activities
  • Optimise financial processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness, .driving continuous improvement

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience as a senior finance professional, preferably in the transport or logistics sector.
  • A strategic mindset with strong analytical, forecasting, and budgeting skills.
  • Professional accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).
  • Strong leadership abilities with a track record of managing high-performing finance teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
