We are seeking an outstanding, enthusiastic, and inspirational Subject Leader of Food Technology to join our dynamic team at The Heath School. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the Food Technology curriculum, inspire students, and lead a dedicated team to deliver exceptional outcomes.

About the Role

As the Subject Leader of Food Technology, you will:

  • Lead the development of an engaging and rigorous Food Technology curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all learners.
  • Inspire and motivate students to promoting a culture of high expectations, continuous improvement and a healthy lifestyle.
  • Be supported by a Director of Technology, who work collaboratively with five other teachers across the faculty with a range of experience and expertise.
  • Monitor and enhance teaching and learning within the department, using innovative strategies to achieve excellence.
  • Manage departmental resources effectively and contribute to whole-school initiatives.
  • Track student progress and use data to implement strategies for raising achievement.
  • Contribute to the wide ranging, extra-curricular ‘Do More’ programme.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be an experienced and successful teacher/leader of Food Technology with a proven track record of delivering excellent results with the capacity to move the outcomes of our students to above national.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills and the ability to inspire and motivate.
  • Be a passionate advocate for the subject, with innovative ideas for engaging teaching and learning.
  • Be a passionate about working with children and seeing them flourish.
  • Possess excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Have a clear vision for the development of Food Technology within the school.
  • Possess the relevant skill set to coach and develop other staff to further develop their teaching.
