Behaviour Support Assistant – Primary School (Sunderland)

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Behaviour Support Assistant to work in a primary school in Sunderland, supporting pupils with behavioural and social-emotional needs. This role is ideal for someone patient, resilient, and passionate about making a difference in children’s lives.
Role & Responsibilities:
✔ Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural challenges✔ Help create a positive learning environment and encourage emotional regulation
✔ Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to implement behaviour management strategies
✔ Build strong relationships with students to support their engagement and progress
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children (preferably in a school setting)Understanding of behaviour management techniques (or willingness to learn)
A compassionate, proactive, and patient approach
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
This is a full-time role running until July, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
