KS1 Teacher

Cranleigh Prep School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Key Stage 1 Teacher from September 2025 to join our thriving Pre-Prep Team.

We are looking for an outstanding teacher to lead a Key Stage 1 class in the foundation year of our new Pre-Prep. Cranleigh Pre-Prep will be open to children in Years 1 and 2 in September, 2025 and Early Years classes will follow in 2026. It is an exciting chapter in the recent history of the School.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering inspirational lessons, assessing progress, and supporting the emotional and social development of children in either Year 1 or Year 2. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to make a difference in the early stages of a child's education.

Applications are particularly welcome from those with additional skills and experience that can be brought to the role, especially in the field of outdoor learning.

They will engage confidently with parents, being the first point of contact for matters relating to their class.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching in a primary school setting, particularly with KS1 students (Year 1 and Year 2), is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for Key Stage 1.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Ability to use assessment data to inform teaching strategies and improve student outcomes.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.

The postholder will be line managed by the Head of Lower School.

We offer a supportive community environment with a competitive renumeration and benefits package.
