At St Laurence School we regard our staff as our most important resource. Our Investors in People report noted that:

There is a strong belief that St Laurence School is a ‘great place to work’. Everyone clearly has a high level of pride in working at the school and in what is being achieved. They feel this way because of the inspirational leadership, strong teamwork, supportive management, pleasant environment and of course, the students.

We have a large English department comprised currently of thirteen full-time and part-time specialist English teachers, some of whom have responsibilities beyond the department. The Head of Department is supported by a Second in Department i/c KS4, and a KS3 English Coordinator.

The department has a strong track record of offering career development opportunities, and we encourage all colleagues to lead on and take ownership of aspects of our curriculum as part of our collegiate ethos. We are proud of our identity as a department and the consistent diet of very good teaching we offer our students; this is reflected in excellent GCSE and A level results.

Since our core business is learning, we are committed to the professional development of each of our staff, whatever their role in the school. If you would like to join a committed, professional and passionate team in our journey to being a school which is outstanding in every way, please consider applying.

To apply, please refer to the Letter to Candidates, complete an application form and send it with a covering letter to Mr Tim Farrer, Headteacher. Further information can be found by visiting the school website Staff Vacancies | St Laurence School (st-laurence.com)
