Field Service Engineer
Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for working on mechanical equipment?
CNC Recruitment are looking for a skilled and reliable Field Service Engineer to join our client in Mid Devon district area.
Role Overview:
As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and troubleshooting mechanical equipment, with a focus on heating systems such as biomass boilers, although experience with other types of machinery is also valuable.This role requires a flexible individual who is happy to stay away from home (typically Monday-Thursday) for 4 nights a week, with local work available up to 25% of the time.
We are looking for candidates who have experience in field-based work and have a background in servicing mechanical systems—this could range from agricultural equipment to factory machinery or boilers. Biomass experience is desirable but not essential.
Location: Nationwide (with occasional local work)Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Key Responsibilities:
- Servicing and maintaining mechanical equipment, particularly heating systems and boilers.
- Troubleshooting mechanical faults and ensuring systems are running efficiently.
- Traveling to customer sites across the UK (with occasional local work) and staying away from home as needed.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.
- Using company equipment (van, mobile phone) and maintaining accurate records of work completed.
- Communicating effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Previous experience working as a field-based engineer or servicing mechanical equipment (experience in biomass, heating systems, agricultural equipment, or factory machinery would be a plus).
- Comfortable with staying away for 4 nights a week (Monday to Thursday) and traveling to various locations (approx. 25% local work).
- Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own time effectively.
- Full UK driving license (essential).
