Would you like the opportunity to work with a dynamic and innovative team?

Do you have a passion for working in a fast paced, specialist setting?

Then a role within Gastroenterology may be for you.

Gastroenterology is split between wards 26 & 27 with links to specialist services across the organisation. We work closely with the Emergency department, Emergency Admission Unit, acute medical wards and specialist teams to ensure our patients receive timely, safe and high quality care.

The role of a Staff Nurse is to support in the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of high quality nursing care. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the staff nurse will ensure patients receive the highest level of care, delivered using a holistic, patient-focused approach, while ensuring high standards of documentation are maintained.

As an additional skill within our Gastroenterology ward, our nurses care for patients with eating disorders, with close links to our local mental health unit. The skills you will gain will be to assess, plan and carry out care in order to help progress patients back to health

We have a highly skilled and experienced team within Gastroenterology and have an excellent band 5-development pathway for all new staff starting within the care group, making this the perfect learning environment for developing your skills.

You will be working within a strong and organised team under the supervision of the ward matron, deputy ward matron and co-ordinators.

At North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust our main priority is, and always will be, to provide safe and high quality care to our patients every day; the kind of care we would want for ourselves and our loved ones. We want our organisation to be the best place to work with the right staff, in the right roles, at the right time, to ensure we deliver exceptional patient care and experience.

We will support staff through providing an inclusive and supportive workplace with health and well-being initiatives, staff benefits and opportunities for personal and professional development. Staff recognition is very important to us; as well as performance reviews and appraisals, we recognise staff through Star and Team of the month, colleague recognition – a note of thanks, Managers Awards, Shining Stars and Service Awards.

We recruit for values and “Together we are North Tees & Hartlepool”

We are looking for enthusiastic and flexible applicants who enjoy the challenges of problem solving and are motivated to provide excellent care to our patients.
