We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse post within our North Manchester Specialist Community Mental Health Teams based in our exciting new and modern base at the Central Park Hub.
We are looking for a dynamic individual with strong clinical skills who is enthusiastic and motivated to support our Specialist CMHTs with the aim of delivering safe, effective and high-quality services to our service users.
The successful candidate will be an experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse who will relish working within the vibrant and challenging environment of Manchester. They will be an autonomous practitioner who is able to work within an established MDT.They will have a level of expertise in this area and have a key role in the assessment and treatment for patient accessing a service within the SCMHT.

The core hours are Monday to Friday 9-5, although some flexibility will be considered.

As a qualified Nurse you will demonstrate and live the NMC values as identified in the Code of Practice.
Your post will include working with individuals using research based interventions to promote their independence and recovery whilst maintaining high quality clinical documentation.
This includes respecting individuality, values, cultures and religious diversity of clients and colleagues and thus contributing to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs.

- To ensure and support individuals to collaborate in the development of their recovery plans and structured care plans and treatment.
- To assess, plan and review in line with requirements of the Care Act (2014) and s117 of the Mental Health Act (1983).
- To provide clinical supervision to members of the multi disciplinary team based on your clinical and professional knowledge.
- To supervision junior members of staff in their clinical risk assessment and formulation of crisis and risk planning.
- To promote recovery focused care and interventions for individuals.
- To ensure that all interactions and documentation is person centred following the NHS guidance ‘No decision about me, without me’.
- To co-produce individualised recovery plans with the individuals, carer or others identified by the Service User.
- To promote and maintain a learning culture within the team which supports the professional and effectiveness of clinical care.
- To contribute to the delivery of multidisciplinary training including the induction of new staff, students and trainees.
- To demonstrate a high level of active communication skills with individuals and also in a variety of forums and situations.
- To utilise your highly developed interpersonal skills to facilitate effective communication. This includes identification and overcoming communication barriers such as sensory or cognitive impairment, hostile or highly emotive situations.
- To provide specialist Mental Health Nursing interventions in the assessment, support and recovery of individuals with severe mental health difficulties. These include but are not limited to Mental State Assessments, Social Care Assessments, Physical health care monitoring, Side effect profile monitoring, etc.
- To ensure that all individuals have clear and accurate information regarding their care or the care of their loved ones.
- Where required to act up in the absence of the senior practitioner.
- To seek out and participate in line management and clinical supervision.
- Ensure, as far as practicable, the full involvement of individuals and their carers in the assessment, formulation and review of their care plans.
- To maintain high standards of clinical recording ensuring that information is always:- Accurate, appropriate and up to date.
- To comply with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trusts policies and procedures with specific focus on confidentiality, Information Governance and professional practice.
- To maintain your personal well being by the use of all available resources available to you via the Trust or professionally.
- To identify any unmet needs to support service improvement or planning to enhance individuals experiences of health services within the Trust or in the wider health economy.
- To comply with the NMC code of professional conduct, local and national professional standards, policies and procedures.
- To adhere to the principles of Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults inline with Trust policy and local and national reporting procedures.
- With support from line managers, make safeguarding enquiries in line with Section 42 of the Care Act (2014) ensuring that safeguarding is person centred, proportionate specific and that outcome measures are achieved and risk is mitigated.
- To ensure that colleagues and junior staff are competent and compliant with Safeguarding legislation and guidance.
- To act inline with the Trusts Infection Prevention Control policies, procedures and best practice guidance to maintain high standards of Infection Prevention and Control (IPCC)
- To comply with all service security requirements with regarding to your own and others safety. These include lone working procedures, H&S at work and risk management procedures.
- To ensure the management of risk in accordance with the Trust Policies and procedures including the investigation process in regard to Root Cause Analysis, complaints accidents and near miss situations via the Inphase system.
- To uphold the Trust values and work in an environment free from the fear of harassment, discrimination, abuse, and violence.
- To promote the Trusts Anti Racism agenda in all professional and personal interactions.
- To maintain your personal and professional duty of candour where an incident or accident has occurred.
- To develop and maintain good working relationships with all partners involved with individuals care or the wider health economy including General Practitioners, commissioners and third sector agencies.
- To promote awareness of mental health and the role of the CMHT within local services, primary care services and also within the wider community.
- To advocate on behalf of individuals under your care with regard to ensure that they are fully involved with their care and treatment.
- To exercise excellent time management, punctually, consistency and reliability within your role.
- To demonstrate empathy and compassion to individuals or their family/carers who may want to make a complaint about their care.
- To take responsibility for your own learning and professional development, making use of opportunities to expand your clinical, professional or governance skills.

- To act as a Practice Educator for students on clinical placements.
