Job overview
We are looking for a Consultant in Sleep & Respiratory medicine to join our Medical Team.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching, audit and research activities of the Sleep Department and to participate in multidisciplinary clinics. Also expected to provide four sleep clinics a week with associated clinical administration, reporting and discussion time for polysomnography and time for supporting professional development.

Main duties of the job
The post is to assist the Sleep Department to deal with an increasing workload and to provide succession planning . The successful candidate will have experience of and a particular interest in Sleep medicine. Candidates will be expected to contribute actively to the management, teaching, audit and research activities of the department.

The Sleep disorder Centre was established in 1992 and has grown steadily since, now receiving in excess of 7000 referrals per annum. The centre is the largest Sleep Centre in the South East outside London and has a catchment area encompassing the whole of Sussex and much of Kent and Surrey.Insomnia patients travel from much further afield.
QVH specialises in conditions of the eyes (corneoplastics), hands, head and neck cancer and skin cancer, reconstructive breast surgery, maxillofacial surgery and prosthetics, providing regional and national services in these areas of clinical expertise.Our world-leading clinical teams also treat more common conditions of the eyes, hands, skin, and teeth for the people of East Grinstead and the surrounding areas. In addition, QVH provides a minor injuries unit, expert therapies, a sleep service, and a growing portfolio of community-based services.

Qualifications
Essential criteria- CCT or proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview date
- European Sleep Research society (ESRS) examination or commitment to sitting it.
Eligibility
Essential criteria- Competent in the specialist field of Respiratory Medicine and General Medicine
- Competent in the specialist field of Sleep Medicine with a broad range of experience in Sleep Disorders
Audit
Essential criteria- Evidence of active participation in audit: candidates must demonstrate data from at least one personal audit over the past two years
