37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 5-6 months
City: HEANOR
The successful candidate will be required to work a daytime shift pattern of 5 days out of 7 and able to work every other weekend.
This role requires someone who has excellent communication skills and is customer focused. Provision of high quality and effective Countryside Services across sites and
in the wider community in Derbyshire.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the management, maintenance and care of countryside service sites, facilities and public rights of way across Derbyshire.Contribute to specific projects and initiatives as directed by line management
Participate in a range of activities/initiatives to promote the countryside service and countryside management.
Prepare reports and information, including analysis, for internal colleagues and line management
Undertake site inspections, prepare reports and minor maintenance schemes and monitor contracts and report on progress as necessaryUndertake short term planning to ensure projects/events are efficiently organised and that work is completed in accordance with required standards and within predetermined timescales
Maintain manual and electronic record systems associated with the efficient operation of the countryside service
Supervise assigned staff and volunteers including allocation of work
Ensure financial regulations are adhered to and assist with the monitoring of budgets and resources
Qualifications:
HNC/ HND or equivalent in countryside management or related subject Or NVQ Level 3 in environmental Conservation or related subjectFull drivers licence
Knowledge:
Countryside, conservation and access knowledgeGood knowledge of the use of social media such as Facebook, Instagram etc to promote the park on day to day activities
An understanding of project management
Experience:
Proven experience of visitor management/ customer care in countryside/park environmentProven countryside management, or wildlife and/or heritage conservation experience
Proven supervisory experience of multiple staff.
Leading on the organisation and delivery of events and activities
Using information Technology (IT) including Microsoft packages, word processing and excel; plus non-standard software systems/bespoke packages.
Skills & Abilities:
Good computer skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office especially Office, Word and ExcelAbility to work as part of a team, to follow instructions and complete work unsupervised.
Ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks to maintain day to day operational efficiency.
Ability to work and deal with people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds confidently, sensitively and diplomatically
