Job overview
The Estates Department provides a comprehensive maintenance, repair and installation service of the buildings, grounds, engineering services and associated equipment throughout the Trust.
You must have served a recognised Electrical/Mechanical apprenticeship and gained a wide experience in building engineering services and plant maintenance with a BTEC HNC level or City and Guilds plus relevant post apprenticeship training or equivalent experience.
You must hold a current UK driving licence and reside within half an hour normal travel time to fulfil on-call duties.
The role is Monday – Friday with participation in an emergency on-call rota plus opportunities for overtime and weekend working.
Salary - Band 5 plus local RRP (£3,277 pa), with an approximate £1,000 pa on-call retainer, overtime, 27 days holiday & voluntary pension scheme.

Essential criteria- Full U.K driving licence.
Qualifications
Essential criteria- CITB/EITB Apprenticeship or other approved training.
- A National Qualification Framework NQF achievement to level 4 or above, e.g., BTEC/HNC/HND/LCGI or equivalent.
- Authorised/Responsible Person in one or more of the following specialism’s:- o LV Electrical Systems o HV Electrical Systems o Heating and Ventilation Systems o Steam Systems o Decontamination o Safe Water Systems o Medical Gas Pipeline Systems (MGPS) o Natural Gas Supplies o Confined Spaces
Experience
Essential criteria- Extensive knowledge of the electrical and/or mechanical and/or plumbing systems in NHS premises.
- In depth knowledge of all relevant legislation and technical guidance
- In depth knowledge of all relevant Health Technical Memorandum’s (HTM’s)
- Significant experience working in a complex engineering/ building environment
- Ability to manage and deliver to deadlines and within resources
